El Rancho de las Golindrinas www.golondrinas.org If you really want to experience historic Santa Fe you need to visit El Rancho de las Golondrinas about 15 miles south of Santa Fe. The living history museum was once an important stop on the Camino Real. The 200 acre ‘rancho’ is in a rural valley southwest of Santa Fe called ‘La Cienega’ – a bucolic village where acequias still water the orchards and small farms of the locals.
